Introduction

Critical Patch Update January 2005 fixes security vulnerabilites in Oracle 9i and 10g databases. It is an interim patch; fixes in this patch will be incorporated in the next Oracle patchsets for these databases. However, because the vulnerabilities are considered high risk, this interim patch was released now before the next patchsets are released.

This howto is a quick reference and not a comprehensive step-by-step guide; it is assumed you have access to Oracle MetaLink and the referenced documents and patchsets.

This howto is for the Windows NT/2000 server platforms.
